I did the latest Avast upgrade today. Right after I rebooted, I noticed that any time there is a significant amount of movement on my screen, the display looks like it shakes. If I close something or refresh it only shakes for a second, but if i move my mouse around real fast or scroll up and down it shakes until I stop. When my screen save comes on, it shakes the whole time.
I’m hearing that this is a symptom of certain virus, but I highly doubt Avast is connected to one. Is it a virus? or did the new upgrade automatically change display/graphic smoothness? How do I fix this??
Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on. If avast does not detect it, you can try DrWeb CureIT! instead.
Use Comodo Cleaning Essentials (CCE), or MBAM, or SUPERantispyware to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, it is better and safer to send the infected file(s) to quarantine (Chest), rather than simply deleting them.
Read these instructions and provide more info with the logs generated. But, please, do NOT post there, open a NEW thread for your specific problem and help us to help you.
Clean your Hosts file (replacing it) with HostsMan tool.
Disable System Restore and then reenable it again.
I did the latest update of Avast free on my Windows 7 and the NVIDIA profile no longer loaded properly. It would load and revert to the default setting. I went into maintenance and changed to load Avast after system services and that stopped the problem. I scanned and cleaned temp files and couldn’t find any other cause. I’ll try a clean install when I get some free time.
