Latest Update 17.6.2310 prevents file download/save from all browsers

Yesterday I got the automatic update to 17.6.2310. Since then I am unable to save any files or images from Firefox, Chrome or IE because the “save as” dialog GUI is partly blank, with no file names and no ability to type one. At the same time, the GUI interface to Adobe Reader DC is corrupted, with no file names, distorted text and absent tabs. The problem with Reader DC after update 17.6.2310 has also been reported by another user on this forum who found that it was clearly due to the update.

This is a serious problem that makes the machine largely unusable. I hope this gets fixed soon since I don’t want to run without A/V. Is there a way to roll back to the previous version of Avast that worked fine until yesterday?

The original update occurred while the machine was booting cold, and maybe it got corrupted by colliding with other processes trying to load. Or maybe they have slyly fixed it without saying :wink:
