Latest avast free edition update has for some reason blocked my ips’s homepage, spark.co.nz.
If I disable the webshield I can load the site. Even putting an exception rule into the exclusions it still wont work. This could potentially be effecting thousands of avast users from accessing email, the ability to pay there bills etc.
Website is opening without a problem with all shields enabled for me.
Perform a repair of avast and see if it solves the problem.
If not perform a clean installation.
Thought the clean install had worked but I still cant access the site unless I disable the webshield.
Once I deactivate the shield I can get to the site once I turn the shield back on I can get to the site for a little while then I need to turn it of again other wise no go. No problems getting to any other sites.
No I’m not running a proxy server, are you suggesting I have some sort of malware infection?
I have run Malwarebytes it was clean pus other scans and all have come up clean.
I will do as suggested and post my logs, am very curious to see if someone can suss this out.
Thanks for the help.
… of course there is the obvious, that is that you could (probably already have) always add the URL to the “exclusions” list for now until this issue is addressed.
ADDENDUM: It works fine in my FF and I’ve got various levels of FF security addons that will often require my intervention but not at all in the case of this web site (spark.co.nz).
I have tried exclusion list and it make no difference, the browser I use makes no difference as I’ve said in a earlier post I can’t even ping the isp when webshield is on
