Hi,
I just purchased the anti virus program for my CPU however I cant activate it?

WHEN I choose to activate it gives me a message of ‘this file contains a virus and was deleted’…

Can someone please help?

sounds like you may have a infection that is blocking AV install … maybe a rogue security program

follow instructions and attach logs (not copy and paste) http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

run in order listed (if problems running tools, try from safe mode)
AdwCleaner / Malwarebytes / OTL / aswMBR

when done, removal experts will be notified and help you
when finish, all tools used will be removed

I think you’re correct about a rogue security program because I cant download anything now!

So still unable to activate my purchase. I tried your link but I couldn’t download the ADW Cleaner with the current problems im facing (message: ‘this file contains a virus and was deleted’ blu177.afx.ms)
Tries in safe mode with networking and same problem.
I tried a full scan with both free avast and malwarebytes but still no luck?
Any advice?

Hi do you have a USB that you can download a programme to on another computer ?

If so download the following programme and run on the infected system from the USB drive

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your USB.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

[*]Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
[*]Press Scan button.
[*]It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
[*]Please attach the log back here.
[*]The first time the tool is run it generates another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST.exe/FRST64.exe). Please also Attach that along with the FRST.txt into your reply.
