I recently bought avast internet. I rebooted my pc back to factory settings and lost my licence key. I asked avast to resend another key but I can not enter the key it into the programme to activate it. Can anyone help

Have you saved the license.avastlic to your hard disk ?
If so just double click on the file and it should automatically apply it.
I saved it to my desk top. I have tried the 2 ways of activating the key. double click and the longer method. The license.avastlic that was sent to me was in notepad. When I saved the file to my desktop it did not have the avast symbol just a note pad
It isn’t a notepad file as such, but in saving the email attachment to your desktop you may have saved it as a text file.
Do you have .txt after the license.avastlic, if so remove the .txt part at the end (leaving the license.avastlic part), windows will ask if you are sure answer yes. Now when you double click that file avast should be the program to action the license.
