License Active, avast keeps saying unsecured.

I recently noticed my avast! is unsecured and i’ve been trying to secure it with the Fix Now button and nothing happens. I figured my subscription was about to run out so I just renewed my license. I went to insert my new license into the program and I get this error message: “Unable to insert the license file. The AAVM subsystem detected a RPC error.”

Although the license renew didn’t work, according to the error, my old license is still Active and valid until 2/21/13, this doesn’t explain why my system is unsecured though.

Edit: When I click FIX NOW a message appears that tells me I need to restart AVAST and when I click the Start Now button, a spinner appears for a few seconds and nothing happens.

Repair avast!:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

I did what you said. Went to Add/Remove Programs, Repaired Avast! (it was strange that it took like 2 seconds), said it was repaired, restarted my system. Still the same as before. Nothing has changed.

  1. Download and run: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/vpsupd.exe
  2. Reboot.

It worked! Thank you so much! I’ll keep renewing my license for sure, i’m very satisfied with the support I get!

You’re welcome.
