License Expired Notification

I received a message today saying my Home Edition License has expired. It said i could update to Professional Edition or keep using the Home by putting a new Register Key at the site. I went there and registered getting a new one and after doing all the procedures correctly, it still with the same previous Key. No matter how many times i inserted it like the email tell how to do, it didn’t changed, even after a reboot. It is odd since the About Avast says:
Type: Home
Expires: Never
Update expires in: 2008, September, 1, Monday.

My version is 4.7, but I’m bit confused with that Update Database: 000748-2, 09/06

Do i need to download the program again?

EDIT: I use AVAST since 2004, and my last formating was almost one year ago. I already had input the Register Key.

It may not appear to have changed, the part displayed in the about avast isn’t the full key so it could have changed.

When you entered it was it accepted as valid, etc. ?
Is it still notifying that it has expired ?

The Update expires in: 2008, September, 1, Monday, would appear correct (14 months) so it looks like it has accepted the ‘new’ key.

I checked the previous key. It is completely different from the new one i got. I’m sure it still the previous. And no, it isn’t notifying any expire message again, still i cant confirm if it really stopped.
Yes the date says it expires in 2008, also when i entered it it really said: New Key Confirmed! I just didn’t noticed the first serial being changed (it didn’t).
What is bugging me is that Database Version: 09/06; Isn’t that September 2006? What about this version 000748-2 09-06? What it means?

It can’t be the same as the previous one as the registration key by your own comments, it has been accepted, confirmed and the Update expiry date has been extended, this wouldn’t have happened if the key was the same as the old one.

Where are you checking the registration key against, the only way to compare is by the registration emails, as I said the key displayed in about avast is only part of the key.

The VPS isn’t strange for me as 09/06 is the 9th of June if you look at the about avast it will show the full date 09/06/2007, I guess that is taken from avast’s data and since that is European the date format is different to the US date format.

You are probably right about the registration key. Maybe I’m not seeing all the key and bothering for nothing. But about the VPS you just cleared everything. So its 9th of June and i was mistaking with September 2006. Thank you.

No problem, glad I could help.
