License Key / Archived Files

2 questions… Yes, I’m brand new to Avast, so be patient…

Is there something in the program that shows how long the license key is good for? I input it, but got no real feedback. Program seems to run normally…

I noticed the Scan Archived Files (or something like that) was grayed out. Is there a way to change that? I’m assumimg that may change if I upped the protection level from Standard (the default setting), but haven’t been able to yet.

  1. Yes, it is displayed in the About box.
  2. Do you mean the item of the Simple User Interface menu? If yes, you have to select an area to scan first - then the option gets enabled (so that you can change it).

Thanks… I’ll play with it more when I get home. Right now, I’ve only got Avast installed on our kids’ computer, so I don’t get as much time to explore it as maybe I need.

I suggest you spend some time reading the help and make yourself familiar with all terms and settings that Avast is offering the user and what the mean/do.

Okay… this will sound dumb… I looked for help files but could not find… Where might those be?
