I have 3 swithable hard drives with WinMe on my PC, all
3 on cable.
I downloaded, installed avast! 4Home on 1drive. entered
license code, all ok. downlowd/Installed avast! 4 Home
on 2nd drive, avast would not accept license code on 2nd
drive, what should i do?
I don’t understand. You’re installing a second instance of avast on the same machine?
I have a hard drive switch which permits selection of any of 3 hrd drives at one time on power-up, with the
drives password accessed by 3 members of family. Is same as pluging drives one at into Mboard, a Romtec
Trios HD switch, with no access to other drives when on,
only selected drive is powered when PC is on. So far,
I have been able to use password/license key on all 3 drives on other software with success. Avast is the first
problem.
Harware detection? (different serial numbers of the HDD) ???
:o I had the same problem ! This is what I discovered: Avast seems to check your "Registered to: " information in “My Computer” (right-click “My Computer” to see "Registered to: ). Your registration with Avast has to be the same as "Registered to: " in “My Computer” otherwise you will get an error “Invalid License Key” ! Each of your drives has a different “Registered to” , so each one needs a new Avast registration using the respective "Registered to: "
So you need to register each drive!! Strange , but it works!
