I have Avast 4.1 free home edition. I received my license key this morning, and entered it in, but the “about Avast” box still shows the key that was in there before. What’s up?
Will a reboot solve it?

Rebooting fixes many problems on the Mac side too!

Last month I did the ultimate fix!
F-disk and start from scratch. For the 1st 2 weeks after that, windows re-booted in less than 1 min.
That only goes to prove that it’s not windows that takes so long on boot-up, it’s all the goodies we add in our startup folder that slow us down…
Don’t say this to them… They will add all that goodies by force with Windows and will say that you must be happy with all of them 8)
I’m very pickey with the programs that start up when windows does.
I only allow those that I absolutely consider required starters. All others only get started when I need them.
But remember, every ones choice if what’s required, is different.
