i just installed the avast 4 home users free antivirus, and whenever i try to enter the license key number it says it is invalid, what is the problem?

Is this the key that you were sent by email?
Did you cut and paste it into the window or did you type it in? The best way is cut and paste.
do a search for license key in the forums, I’m sure you will find other posts on this subject. Or browse the forums for a thread on this topic.
