Hello,

Does anyone know how I renew my license key on Avast 5.0.259? The program tells me that there is a new version available but my license key is not registered or invalid. I went to the website and ordered a new key which was sent to me, but I don’t know where to paste the new key in Avast 5? I remember using Avast in the past and was able to paste my key into the proper place, but I’m lost on this one! I really like the Avast 5 Beta and hope to continue to use it, so any advice is greatly appreciated.

because I’m having trouble getting a new license for avast5.0…

or can i convert my license key for avast4.8 to avast5.0???

You fail to say what version of avast 4.8 you have Home or Pro as there is a difference in how to do this ?

If you have avast 4.8 Pro license - avast! 5 Pro license convert from 4.8 Pro license. Try http://www.avast.com/resend-license.php now, it should ask for your email and send it to you (presumably it will check you have a legit 4.8 Pro license first).

I myself experienced it…I just clicked next and I agree on the avast! 5 installer, rebooted without any problem^^

Hi:

I have Avast 4.8, the free version. When I was browsing last night with Firefox, I ran into an infected site which had a Trojan. I was able to delete the Trojan, but since then I haven’t been able to open Avast. Every time I try to open it, I get prompted to enter my license key on the splash screen. I have my license key, and when I enter it, I get a pop up saying that the license key has been successfully inserted. When I click okay to that, behind it is another pop up saying unknown registration key, and it only has a partial license key, not the full thing. Has my version of Avast become corrupted? Thanks.
