Not sure if I’m posting in the right place for this or not… But what I want to do is move my avast! Pro to a different computer. Well, actually, the same computer. I’m reformatting my hard drive and since I have the paid version I’d prefer if I didn’t lose it. I’ve looked all over on what information I need so that I can reinstall it and haven’t found too much on the subject. I still have the email with the license “attachment”, if you can call it that. It’s not an actual file. Yahoo! calls it an inline attachment. I can see all the HTML-looking stuff but there is no actual file that I can download from the email. I looked through my program folders for it and couldn’t find it there either. What am I doing wrong? Any and all help is much appreciated.
What version of avast Pro do you have, latest is 5.1.889 ?
Just save your license file to a USB stick, etc. and that can be used on your reinstall after the format.
The license file (license.avastlic) you should have got via email (either as an attachment or link to download) so you should have that email and or you should have license.avastlic saved somewhere.
If you don’t and you know the email you used during your purchase it is possible to have it resent:
