LinkOptimizer in a .BIN archive

I’ve recently downloaded a packed archive which has a file named track03.bin. Avast detected a threat labeled LinkOptimizer in this .BIN file. Is it possible to repair the file or use it without harm to the system? What should I do?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ansatsuken

Did it came from romcenter, then there were issues reported there? Iif it came from a torrent site how’d you know what you got?
So do as Pondus tells you to do and post the scan link id for us,

polonus

Pondus, unfortunately, I think I’ll get no luck with these steps, because the .BIN file is 1.1 GB big… but I’ll give it a try anyway.

polonus, as far as I remember, I’ve downloaded this file four times (first from an old website which I don’t recall now, and later from Emuparadise.org three times). I’ve contacted the latter’s webmaster and here’s what he replied:

I'm quite sure that the trojan alert must be a false positive. A .bin file is never meant to run anyway, I'll definitely look into it but to be honest, I think it's safe.

Nevertheless, I’m still unsure about it, since it’s the very only file I downloaded from Emuparadise that featured a problem like this one.
