Hello,
after a full scan, i get two problems detected as high severity.
the files names are
Local Settings\Application Data\adaware\data\121031200349-m.list
Local Settings\Application Data\adaware\data\121103031826-l.list
the severity is high
the thread name is : HTML:Fraud-J
I did use adaware but i remove it before
Do you think this is a really thread or is it due to an interaction with former adaware file.
For a while an adaware plugin was still avalaible for IE
Hello
thank you for your help. Unfortunately i’m not an expert.
This means that it’s not a “real” virus ? If i understand well, this alerte is due to a adaware files containing information about virus ? So in fact my computer is safe ?
Thanks in advance
It means when you have an attack dog don’t be surprised when it bites - e.g. antivirus applications are looking for virus signatures, so when 3rd party applications that don’t encrypt their virus signatures used for detection, then the resident antivirus is likely to detect and alert on the unencrypted signatures.
That is after all what you want your antivirus to do.
Yes it is safe, but as the other link suggest you should remove this toolbar, etc. and save yourself the grief.
