Generally, all error codes under 30,000 (decimal) are system (Windows) error codes.
First, translate them to the decimal form from hexadecimal (use e.g. Windows calculator to do this) and then use the net helpmsg Windows command to find out what the error means.
Example: avast reports error 0000007E. You run calc.exe and convert the hexa number 7E to decimal – the result is 126 decimal. Then you start the command prompt (cmd.exe) and type
net helpmsg 126
which gives you the description of the error (in this case “The specified module could not be found”).
What does this error code mean: Error 4200: 0xa410 I could not start this service, once a while I manage to get ut started but unable to to detect the server.
i get this msg “function setifaceUpdatepackages() has failed.return code is 0x20000004, dwRes is 20000004. & this " an error has accured while attempting to update. please chek the logs”.
Does anyone knows why when I finish the installation of my recently bought license for avast! Internet Security, my PC, running on Windos XP get the message “Unable to insert the license file. The AAVM subsystem detected a RPC error”…?
Please, help me get trough because I am trying to install it for a few days, unsuccessifully…it is extremelly frustanting, and I am jus an median user, not even close to an expert. I need help.

:-\yes, but I already cleaned all of them using the aswCleaner.exe, provided by email from avast help center, but I still get the same error and even tough the new avast 7 is installed it is not working. I dont know what ellse to do…
