it is very strange. I use uninstall utility to uninstall avast completely. then only pick a few components, Script Shield is not one of them. After install, Script Shield is there .
this is one of the thing I hate to do the most, but yes, I did reboot.
another thing is, after uninstall client from the console, sites are still blocked, I need to use utility to unstall it. thanks
is Admin–>Settings–>Components the only place to pick the components? I tried on one of the pc again, I only selected a few components. But when I click on the pc from the console, all services are started. thanks
just to make it clear:
Did you use the uninstall utility to remove the client on the client computer or only on the server to remove the old version of BP?
if you only removed the console:
did you have the older client already deployed to the computer ?
i noticed your blocking behaviour when i uninstalled via the console one time too. I noticed that a service from avast was still there.
-look into the services.msc and check which avast service is still registered.
-open an elevated command prompt (assuming windows vista or windows 7 is used)
Well, I meant the version of the client (computer being protected by avast!). And the other question, which deployment method are you using? E-mail or Unattended deployment? Thx. Jan.
