Have you rebooted as there was/is no build .1000 in avast 5.0, that is a build associated with avast 6.0.
That should hopefully report the correct version number.
No, I had reboot a lot of time after reinstallation, and that screenshot is what Avast
shows on my PC.

have you tried avast repair and reboot ?
For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
I uninstall completely (with the utilty) and reinstall Avast, I heard also some friend that have
the same thing, maybe the italian version ?
