Run avast antivirus
Right click the skin and choose ‘Virus Database’ or ‘Virus information’…
Sorry, I’m translating to english ![]()
Thanks for you prompt response… ![]()
I followed your instructions…but perhaps I did not understand…since I’m new. I ran the anti-virus…but I did not get a list of definitions…Help! Can you take me step by step please. Thanks again/
No you will have a ‘search’ window for viruses.
I switch avast for English and the menu item is ‘Virus Database’. You’ll see a window called ‘Information about known viruses’.
You can see the webpages too:
Windows viruses http://www.avast.com/i_kat_61.html
Script viruses http://www.avast.com/i_kat_62.html
Macro viruses http://www.avast.com/i_kat_63.html
I looked at “information about known viruses” and in the box was “Klez”…
When I used Norton, there was a LIST of virus definitions that were covered…so I knew what viruses Norton took care of…follow me?.
Is there not a full list of known viruses that Avast is covering that I can look at.? Is there a log?
You need to put * (asterisk) to the box and hit the Search button. That will list all the virus names.
But please note that virus names are not everything – in some cases, avast detects thousands of Trojans/worms/viruses under the same name… so the actual number of detected malware is much higher than the number of names in the db…
Thanks…that was the info I was looking for!
Sorry Gerri… I did not succeed to help you in the first time.
Anyway, wellcome. Vlk did his job 8)
