This is my first post in this forum. I am from Caracas, Venezuela, so I apologize if you find any error in my English
This is my (little) problem: I just upgraded to the new 6.0.1289 version, and the âWelcome Messageâ at Windows 7 start up doesn´t appear. Maybe this is just a little problem, but I liked to see the message in my screen.
I would like to know if anybody else has the same problem, and how can I solve it. I am running Windows 7 Professional and the message used to show up in the later version of Avast.
By the way, I am a very glad user of Avast. Excellent product!
The avast splash screen is no longer displayed by default on windows startup.
If you want it change the following avast setting:
AvastUI, Settings, Basic settings, âShow welcome message on Windows boot screen,â see image, click to expand.
Besides the correct setting that DavidR mentioned, this has been already âreportedâ.
If I remember correctly, there was a comment from one of Avast developers about this. For Avast 6.0.1289, there was a change so âAvast Welcomeâ would be compatible with the future âWindows 8â, but then they discovered that it might âbrokeâ the Welcome screen under Seven in certain situations (I think it was also a Windows Seven x64 edition).
I think the actual change happened earlier in a beta build I believe, as many complained about this splash screen, asking for an option to disable it. Avast gave that option and also stopped it being displayed by default.
Thanks, I had forgotten this post; the old, if it isnât broken fix it.
In seriousness though I would have though it somewhat early for cosmetic tweaks for win8 pre-beta builds when win8 wonât even let you install avast (or you have compatibility issues) when most people try to avoid splash screens anyway.
