Load Avast Last

Does setting Avast! to load after everything else lower your security? Does it matter one way or another?

Thanks.

It isn’t loading after everything else, the wording states “Load avast! services only after loading other system services.”

So it still gets in relatively quickly, but this is a troubleshooting option and is generally only used/recommended if you have ‘trouble’ on loading/boot ?

Does this also happen in an incognito window ?

Tried unchecking Use hardware acceleration when available at the bottom of chrome://settings/ ?

I have no idea why you are posting these questions in an unrelated topic, this is about avast delaying the start of avast services on boot.

Thanks for the reply DavidR. Can you tell me why it’s only recommended as a troubleshooting option.

Thanks.

Basically as it says it is one of the Troubleshooting measures, not a general setting.

If avast is waiting for a required system driver, etc. then avast can’t load until it does. This generally isn’t an issue so it shouldn’t be necessary and it would only be required/suggested if you were experiencing boot problems.

So it’s not security related then? Thanks again.

No it isn’t really security related, but for those who are thinking it might help speed up the boot, think again.

Since the avast services are only waiting for system services the delay is going to be negligible, unless it is to resolve a specific boot issue (as mentioned before).

Thanks for the informative replies.

You’re welcome.
