Local network not accessable after Avast installation!

I have a local network consisting of my desktop, htpc, and laptop. All are wired connections to the same router. All have worked interconnected flawlessly for the last 4 or 5 years. I have used Comodo previously and decided to change to Avast due to recommendations I found in various pc publications. I purchased Avast and installed it on my three computers today. I made absolutely no changes of any kind to any of my pcs. After the Avast installation and re-boot, I can no longer access or even see any pc from any other pc! I looked at the Firewall>Settings>Friends and the IP range is set from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 which certainly encompasses my range of IPs.

I submitted a support ticket but it is labeled low priority and states that they will get to me when critical issued are addressed and it will be a few days!

Anyone have an idea what I need to do or what I have overlooked? I made to selections during installation other than to let Avast do it’s default thing.

that last sentence should read:

Stupid typing fingers don’t pay attention to brain!

Did you uninstall comodo before installing avast?
Did you run comodo uninstall tool https://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/security-software/

I did uninstall Comodo first. I did not use singular labs, I used the Comodo uninstaller that came with the program.

Run comodo removal tool listed at singular …it is vendors tool … reboot and see if anything changes

I downloaded the uninstaller, ran it, and it said to run it again after re-boot, which I did. Now I can see my Toshiba laptop and HTPC (both of which runs XP PRO) but I cannot connect. I was able to connect prior to installing Avast on all of these machines up to 11pm last night. I shut them down, restarted them this morning and connected again. Then I installed Avast and that’s when the problems started. This popup show in the screen shot has never been seen before in the 4-5 years I’ve had these machines connected. I enter the user name and password for each machine, which is the same, by the way, and it does not connect. I don’t understand where this popup came from. I’ve attached a screen shot of the network browse window and the new popup window. Another strange thing, I wonder why WIN7PRO is shown twice in the browse window?

OK, I give up! I threw up my hands, walked away, watched Mythbusters reruns for a couple of hours, decided to check just one more time, and lo and behold! Everything connects! I swear, I did nothing different, just walked back in and it connected first try. I have some theories, but I’ll keep them to myself to avoid being censored or banned from the forum!
