Hello,
I just install the application and I am really pleased. Just what I needed. Thanks a lot.
I just have a small remark: The location (or other actions) is impossible from the web interface if internet (wifi or 3G) is disabled on the phone.
Location by SMS from an other phone works very well, even if internet is disconnected.
I guess that this question was already asked, but would it be a way to send a SMS directly from the web interface in order to locate the phone if internet is disable on the phone (for non rooted phone)?
a nice wish, but i am sure you know that SMS cost a lot of money. Sending 100.000s of commands by SMS for free would certainly ruin every company out there. i am sorry.
PS: you still have the possibility to remote control Anti-Theft by SMS of course. Plus if you enable “keep data connection on” protection behavior + send the LOST command by SMS to the phone, the device goes online.
Yes, sure, but if I’m not wrong, when we sent a sms like 2222 LOCATE for example, AVAST send us 2 SMS: one to tell us that the command is ok and one to give us the position of the phone.
If AVAST can send sms when we send SMS, I think it’s possible that AVAST use SMS for its web interface ;-).
For the moment, I have no other choice to disable my application who disable WIFI and 3G when my screen is off :-(.
Correct me if I’m wrong. But I’m pretty sure those SMSs are sent from the mobile phone itself. The application sends them with your phone, not from their servers.
How you will send the SMS from your device via web interface? When you will send a SMS command to your device, it will be answer you by SMS sent from the same device. If you will use web portal, the communication is given differently, not by SMS.
