Lock screen hidden behind HTC sense lock screen

Hi all,

I have successfully installed and configured avast! mobile security. When simulating a lock and/or theft in the avast settings, everything works fine. However, if I send an SMS command to lock the phone, the avast lock screen doesn’t appear. More specifically, it is present, but hidden behind the HTC sense lock screen. So you would first need to pull the ring to unlock, enter my pin and only then is the avast lock screen visible. This obviously defeats the whole purpose of the lock screen.

The problem is that the avast lock screen and remote lock function work, but the HTC sense lockscreen takes priority. There is no way of uninstalling HTC sense (except for custom ROMs) and I don’t want to disable the regular unlock (with pin authentication). I already tried to remove and reinstall avast and the anti-theft module, but it didn’t work.

Phone: HTC one V
OS: Android 4.0.3 with HTC Sense 4.0.
avast! Mobile Security: 2.0.2880 (root install)

Any ideas?

Nick

Hello,

This obviously defeats the whole purpose of the lock screen.

actually it doesn’t. what you want, is your phone to be locked. well - it is. in your case even behind two locks. ok, you can’t set a custom lock text but the main idea is intact.

Hi Werner,

You are obviously right, I should have clarified. The HTC sense lock screen doesn’t allow for any custom text (like owner) info to be shown (at least not on the one V). For me the main purpose of the avast lock screen was to have that owner information shown so whoever would find my phone at least has the opportunity to contact me.

regards,
Nick
