I am traveling in France when all of a sudden my phone starts screaming “this phone is stolen” over and over again. Finally got the phone shut down and thought that unloading the software (quickly) as the phone screamed at me would be a good idea.
Now the phone is listed as stolen and locked online, does not have the software accessible on the phone at the moment and therefore apparently cannot be accessed by Avast to unlock or to show the phone as found…I get the following message from Avast “We got a notification from the device that the Google Cloud Messaging was disabled. The most likely reason for that is a hard-reset of the device, or the Google Account on the device is not correctly configured. Web communication to the device is not possible due to this, please use SMS to contact your device. The device will try to re-establish the connection again as soon as possible. You will be notified by email once the attempts succeeded.”
I appreciate anyone’s ideas to help me get the phone back on line for my trip. Thanks.
