Hi.
I wonder if anyone has had this happen.
I am in the UK and have owned a galaxy s3 for 2 years. I that time I have never set nor used a screen lock. About 8 days ago I installed the Avast free version and created a password for use when changing the phone settings.
I had been asked for the pw on 2 or 3 occasions and was able to move on without probs once pw was entered.
Then about 4 days ago my screen locked and I am now unable to unlock.
When I created my Avast account the confirmation email and link went in to my junk mail box and by the time I discovered it the time had lapsed for me to confirm, though I have since completed.
My question is, could this be why my screen locked or is it a separate problem with the phone. I have tried a number of numbers, default ect but to no avail. Although I can flash the device using Heindall etc I would rather not. I tried using Keis to communicate with the phone but the s3 has to be switched on and unlocked before a connection can be made.
I have also tried the going in to emergency call mode and pressing the home then on button quickly. There is supposed to be a flaw with the samsung system that then allows a bypass but samsung has probably sent a download to fix this cos it dont work.
Any ideas chaps? :-\
