Hello ,

When I Tried To Test If My Phone “HTC Incredible S” Stolen ,

I Changed My SIM Card with another one , I Noticed The Folowing :

• SIM Locked “No Service” (No Network - No Calls or SMS will work)
:: Then How it Will Send New Phone Number to My E-mail or Phone Number i Recorded at AVAST App. ? ::
and No SMS Sent To the Mobile Number i Set and On My Account on AVAST Website No New Number Appair

I want to ask , How i can unlock SIM changed Network or Service (to send sms to it with command & to send sms to my number to the new sim number) ?
and how it will work if the thief make software or something on my phone to reset it ?

Sorry for Long , and Hope You Help Me To Understand …

Hello,

if the SIM is locked after the SIM change, the thief would unlock the SIM card. after all - it’s his sim card and he would like to use it. if eh wouldn’t want to use it, he wouldn’t put it into the phone.

how it will work if the thief make software or something on my phone to reset it
it you installed Anti-Theft rooted, it will survive a hard reset in working condition. a standard installation however, will perish.

Rooting is a process allowing users of mobile phones, tablet PCs, and other devices running the Android operating system to attain privileged control (known as “root access”) within Android’s subsystem. Rooting is often performed with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices, resulting in the ability to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized apps that require administrator-level permissions.
These root privileges are needed for a few options within avast! Mobile Security - like the Firewall.
Please consult http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooting_(Android_OS) for more information about rooted devices.

to find out how to root your device please perform an internet search:
root xda
you’ll find good step-by-step-rooting-guides within the XDA developers forum. be aware that you will loose your warranty if you root the device.

for further information you can also consult our manual available at:
http://files.avast.com/files/documentation/mobile-security-user-guide-en.pdf
it will help you understand the basics of the software.
give it a try - it’s short and easy to understand.

avast is not related to the SIM locked. we just lock the screen but not the SIM. you’ll have to clear that with your provider.

Thanks all for Your Reply … Finally SIM Lock is not by AVAST & its Easy to Reset Device without Rooting …

Thanks
