Greetings here!

Here’s my problem:

when launchin the browser safe-zone, I got that error message : “Unable to open the directory profile, because you don’t own the necessary privileges. Contact the administrator of that machine.”, and I cannot access the web. More or less, got it in french.

I tried to run it as administrator, for the same denied access.

Any key?

  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Well, I’m usin free avast, havin bought recently Nexway for 20 Euros. I’m runnin on 64 Bit Windows 10 without other security related software installed.

What do you mean by AVs? Browsers? If so, I was and I’m still then, at the moment, usin Firefox.

Ok, then it’s not comin from Nexway… My program version is the 11.1.2253. Is that right?

Mc Afee was my last anti-virus.

and did you use the removal tool for McAfee ?

How do I know wich avast? :-\

All that is displayed is avast internet security, avast free anti-virus with mouse over.

Yes I used the remove tool for Mc Afee, or so I think… Lemme restart it all.

And you have to know that all was workin perfectly well just yesterday, eh, without any changes on my programs…

It can’t be avast IS and free at the same time.
It is one or the other.
Right click the avast symbol near the clock and choose about.
What does it say ?

The symbol near the clock say that I’m protected with Avast Internet security. But the avast symbol on my task bar say avast free antivirus…

Hum…Now it works fine, after the restart…

So sorry for the trouble, but it seems to be a not so rare issue, as others experienced it (so say Google)…
