Hi,
Using avast 4.6 home, nowadays here’s the transparant mailproxy. So the mpw refuses to let me protect individual accounts.
But with the transparant proxy, my account in thunderbird always meets a “login failed” message. Accounts I previoulsy created with an older avast (and thus connect to 127.0.0.1) work like a charm.
What’s going wrong here?

What is your OS ?
Transparency is effective in NT w2k and XP only and as such you shouldn’t have 127.0.0.1 as your server address. Nor will the MPW be an option in the Start, Programs, avast! Antivirus.
What appears to be going wrong is you may be mixing two methods if you have XP your accounts shouldn’t need any adjustment, if you have win9x or winME you need to run the MPW.

This 127 thing is remaining from earlier versions. I’m using Avast already for a while 
However, i managed a couple of minutes ago logging into my mailserver using my regular mailservername. Reason is I manually changed the account in prefs.js. And now suddenly it’s OK?
However, Some other mailaccount still wont work

Earlier version of avast ? - it has been a very long time since this transparency was introduced.
Have you upgraded your OS from win9x etc. to XP ?
You could try to run the MPW, find C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashPopWz.exe and try running it manually and try to select remove protection. Hopefully that should set your email up as if avast never existed and transparency should work otherwise you will have to do it manually.
