LogMeIn problems

With the update to Avast! Pro 2015.10.0.2208 I am not able to connect to remote PCs with LogMeIn (version 4.1.0.4670 - most current.) If I turn off Avast! Web Shield LogMeIn works fine. I added the LogMeIn URL to the exclusions, but I still have problems. Any advice? I am using Windows 7 64bit. (LogMeIn was working fine with Avast! Pro 2014.)

I also am having the same problem. I am unable to connect unless I disable the new Avast 2015. After I’m done I re-enable Asast 2015

It’s caused by Avast re-signing the LogMeIn/OpenSSL certificates. It will give problems if you have disabled SSL in your browser–which you have done because SSL is fatally compromised and has been deprecated in favour of TLS.

The only answer is to permanently disable WebShield. This sucks, because otherwise it is a useful security device.

One day sometime soon we hope, Avast devs will come to understand how internet protocols work. Personally, I think globally intercepting root certificates and re-signing them as “good” is a very poor strategy.

Gordon.

The better option is to disable HTTPS scanning in webshield rather than the whole shield itself

For now, disabling the HTTPS scanning on all the computers seems to work. I just wish Avast would address this soon.
