A competitor’s product had surreptitiously written a direct link to my bank account into their EULA, so they could auto-update without my consent.
This is against US law. I pointed this out to them, and they tried to tap-dance around… that was it for me. I’d had enough of their “semantics”. 
Their paid AV was inferior to the Avast free version, which has been protecting my family for more than a decade.
Just a quick note of thanks; I’ll be registering again for another year.
