long update time / not incremental ?

Hi,

After running some tests with Avast and AVG (both for Ubuntu 6.06 Linux run on AMD 64) I decided to use Avast.

The problem I have however is that each time the update takes plenty of time (I use dial up connection) as Avast loads 4 - 5 MB of files. I have been using Avast on Laptop/Windows XP and it takes way less time to update.

How can I activate incremental updates in Linux version of Avast ?

Also, is there a way to use/install the language pack in Linux ? What is the right location of the .xml file ?

Incremental updates are not implemented in the Linux version. But this will change in the future.

Did you note that AVG seem not being update as frequently as the Windows version?
Everytime I’ve asked for an update, AVG says “there is nothing to update”… : ???
