I’ve had avast now for over two months and everytime I run it it never seems to find anything. The monthly summary comes in and says nothings been found and corrected. Is it doing it’s job ?? I’d like to see what it’s found and that it’s been deleted. Do I not have some settings correctly installed ? I’ve done quick scans and full scans.

Sounds like you’ve been doing safe surfing practices so there is nothing for avast to detect, I haven’t had any detections in at least 6 months here 
Avast has not detected anything on my system scans for years. :o 
Edit: Should mention it has stopped lots over the years.

OBS: and if you compare this with other programs that find tracking cookies at every scan… avast does not scan for tracking cookies as it is not malware
To give you reassurance, this can be tested using the Eicar test file .

Or share your usb drives with friends
If nothing is detected, it means, you are good pc user.
