Generally the answer would be yes. I have used CC now for a long while and it has never hurt me yet. As an additional I would recommend that you get SP2 as it is more secure. But you must be malware free before installing

Hi j.m.reid,

I can second essexboy in this respect that crapcleaner never failed me as up to this day, I combine it with ATF cleaner, which can take browser crap out very fast, and works fine alongside CC. And no matter what OS always patch and update to the fullest.

Without stating what the general content is of the 758.1 MB is then there is no way we could possibly guess.

This topic should have also gone in the General forum as it has nothing to do with viruses and worms, perhaps one of the moderators will move it.

If the only things you are deleting are Temp files then there shouldn’t be any issues. There are some areas that I don’t clean with ccleaner, none of the advanced options and I don’t uses the Issues Options. So if you stick to the Cleaner Option, Windows, see image you should be OK, but there are no guaranties in life.

P.S. The CAPS LOCK key is on the LEFT ;D

Also if you can update to SP2 you should as it patches many vulnerabilities, which are being exploited, it will also allow for the updates re;eased since that require SP2 and will make your system more secure. It will also allow you to update to IE 6 SP2 further patching security vulnerabilities.

 Hi JM :

As implied by DavidR's post, do NOT run the "Issues"
section of CCleaner, as this is a registry cleaner best
 done by a "stand-alone" program .

Thanks to all for help and advice .Apologies for posting in wrong forum and caps , one learns by his mistakes .

Your welcome, I trust that you have now done your clean up ?
