Looking for portable, free w/ CLI AVAST

I am looking for a version of AVAST that is portable, free and that has a CLI.
I found aswclnr:

but could not find the CLI for it nor where does one download signature updates.
I found that if I run “aswclnr /h” it shows some of the CLI options (I am interested
in the /L and /T options specifically). Is that all the options of the CLI? Anything
hidden?

What about downloading signature updates? How does that work?

I have no idea what purpose you are considering this tool for but this isn’t a general antivirus application, but a tool for cleaning a specific limited sub-set of virus and worm infections.

See http://www2.avast.com/eng/avast-virus-cleaner.html, which list the limited sub-set of viruses and worms that it cleans.

So it isn’t of any use if you are considering it for a general on-demand antivirus, that isn’t its purpose and as such there are no signature updates. If there are other viruses and worms added to this then they would be incorporated in the tool.

Imagine a USB stick (DoK) that I carry with me and plug into an affected computer
and scan it. No need for realtime protection or installing anything on the suspected
computer. But your answer did help - now I can remove this standalone tool from
my potential list of standalone A/Vs.

Well avast has the avast! Bart CD, which is the full scanner that can be run from CD. That option however, it isn’t free and if doing it as in a business way for cleaning other peoples systems.
