the files are still in their original folders (in addition to being in the chest too!). I can also run the “folder” files, except they don’t trigger the resident protection anymore. Were they “repaired” ?
N.B: I set my Chest’s capacity to Unlimited by entering zero in the field
i set the resident protection to repair, then move to chest if it fails, then finally delete if it fails to move it to chest.
when the “resident” detects an infection, it says that the concerned file was moved into Chest. When I check Chest, it is in there indeed, usually with the whole archive that contains the file. However, the archive and files are still on the harddrive in their original folders. And they run too wen i doubleclick them !!
Probably the files aren’t repaired but just the access is blocked.
Maybe the virus is avoiding the deletion of the files.
I’ll run a boot time scanning.
depends on what files that r… could u post more info?
make the boot time scan, as tech stated, if possible on ur sys.
rescan ur system with mbam/a²/sas or similar, if u r not sure bout infection.
asyn
What happens when i doubleclick a file that is “access denied” ? Because, I’m not sure that the file was access denied: it opened a command prompt window that closed as soon as it opened ! Did i run the malware !?
on the otherhand, the computer is perfectly fine: no problems with windows update, internet access just fine … if the computer were infected it would show right (right?)
Is my situation the chest’s behaviour normal ?
Should quarantined files always dissapear from their original folders and into the Chest ?
avastevangelist said it depends on the files. How ?
no. (it depends…)
again! please post more info!!!
b4 clicking anything:
make the boot time scan, if possible on ur sys.
rescan ur system with mbam/a²/sas or similar.
or upload the files to virustotal.
