Hello,
First of all I’ve been using avast for ages and I think it’s great. However, I recently updated to vs. 2014.9.0.2016 and found that it blocks all internet connections when Web Shield is turned on. I’ve tried to access google on firefox, chrome, and IE, with no success. Currently, I have Web Shield turned off. I read somewhere that I should turn off Windows Defender, which I did, but it didn’t change anything.
Running windows 7, x64bit

What firewall are you using ?

I’m using the windows firewall
Did you do an inplace upgrade when you updated ? If so then maybe a clean install will cure it
Download Avast Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel
[]Run the uninstalltool and accept the reboot to safe mode
[]Once complete reboot your system
[*]Reinstall Avast

That did the trick. Everything’s working fine now. Thanks for the help. Sorry it took so long for an update, I got lazy and didn’t do anything it for a bit.

I had same problem on Windows XP machine, all wireless activity totally blocked even to the wireless printer after installing 2014.9.0.2016. I uninstalled Avast via Control Panel, can i just try to re-install the same version (or even an older version if possible) or do I need to complete this full uninstall again.
