I installed new 5.1 over last stable version, .677 I think, and all was good after reboot. Later I rebooted again and now get message Internet connection unplugged. I decided to remove AVAST IS completely for fresh install so uninstalled, reboot, ran avast remove software, reboot. All NGF, I still have no minternet connection on XP SP3. Need advice, I am on different system now.
Don - to help clarify the issue for any helpers - why do you put this down to avast? Did you have internet while avast was removed?
I had just upgraded to the new 5.1 and on second reboot had avast issues showing avast couldn’t update and no internet connection. It actually ahows network cable unplugged, it isn’t. Other people had issued on install over another version so I tried to remove but still no connection. This computer I am using now is on the same router.
Hi Don; Did you run aswClear.exe (Avast Cleanup Utility) In Safe Mode?
