Other than can’t get internet. is your computer running okay chabbo?

Can you give us some more details - your operating system, avast program, anything else?

What is your internet connection?

Hmmm… 500 files… it won’t be easy to guess if any of them will be needed to connect the Internet…
Maybe you could test overintallation of Windows.
Overinstallation can solve the problem and you won’t lose your programs, settings, data, files, etc.
Just choose ‘Repair’ installation of Windows and install ‘over’ the old installation.

A. Consider overinstallation…

B. Or read the instructions, download and burn (maybe from another computer), finally use one of this rescue CD’s:

  1. Avira
  2. Kaspersky
  3. BitDefender
  4. F-Secure
  5. Dr. Web

Hi Tech

Have you seen these?

More than one AV running on system

Advised Mbam but no further response from user

Hi Chabbo, do you have more than one antivirus program running on your computer? This may have caused problems allowing virus through. There are options above and Tech may provide more, and can go over installation if still can’t get internet.

If computer actual running okay otherwise, then think about ISP and reset internet connection. But computer should be running okay first

Not really… Seems they could help in somehow… but I did not read them all.

i tink i did get gone of all virus with combofix but i did get internet before i did use combofix and now i lost internet agin :frowning:

Just no internet now? Otherwise computer running okay?

everthing seems ok but no internet :frowning:

  1. Do you have more than one antivirus running?

  2. Go here anyway http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
Download and run MBAM. This is not antivirus but spyware. Reply post here.

  3. Also, it might help if you went to HiJackThis and ran a scan of your computer
    Click here - http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis/qsg

Download and run. Then do scan and save a log file.
Post the log file here.
You may have to post the log file in two or more parts if the whole log wont fit in one post.

  1. Have to been to Internet Options in Control Panel to check your connections?
Have you got hold of your ISP? Should be a free call.

There are winsock repair tools for XP.
Google will give you some: http://majorgeeks.com/WinSock_XP_Fix_d4372.html

I’m new to those repair tools so will have a look through. Thanks Tech.

I’ve done bout all I can here for a while anyway.
