Hello everyone,
I’ve unfortunately lost my android phone, and I have attempted to send text commands to localize it or even block it, but with no success. I guess the reason is that I did not use the dedicated “friend phone number” that I registered when setting up avast on my phone. The problem is: this friend has changed his phone number, so I will never be able to use this friend phone number anymore anyway.
How else could I send text command to my phone then ?
I thought maybe, given that I have an avast account, I could use it. However, only my computer is registered on it. Is there a possibility to reconnect my phone to my avast account if I provide all the information about my phone? Then I guess I could used the avast account to send text commands?
Thank you very much for your help,
Mikael

Hello,
unfortunately you can’t pair your phone with your my.avast.com account without the phone at hand.
But I don’t see why you couldn’t use SMS commands. If you didn’t set Anti-Theft only to accept SMS commands from the friends number, you can send it from any phone.
Of course you might not get a reply if the phone is turned off or the SIM card has been changed. Since the Friend can’t receive SIM card change notifications, this might be the case.

Werner
