Today, I updated both Avast and the Crunchyroll app from Google Play.
The avast update went smooth and without any problems.
But after updating Crunchyroll, Avast detected it as a malware, and I think it’s probably a false positive.
I checked the app with Malwarebytes and ESET Mobile and both returned normally
Also, just now, Avast detected Creative Cloud and Photoshop Express (both from Adobe) as malware.
I would like to know what’s happening with the Avast detection system? Maybe heuristics?
Thank you for the fast reply.
But, before posting it here, i chose to ignore those threats. But now when I try to re-scan to check, Avast doesn’t let me scan, without first unnistalling or ignoring the apps first.
Hi, you have to ignore the results first and then rescan. Also make sure that you have the correct version of virus database, which is 161019-01 or newer. You can check that in Settings / Updates.
Hello.
I am new user here and I’m not sure if I can exhibit my problem here but here we go.
I have the same situation with the app My Consumer Cellular, I get a new cell 3 weeks ago. And as usual I install Avast free antivirus and all was ok, but yesterday I had a notification from avast that security problem was detected from this app with malware.
I don’t install this app I guess it was installed from factory because I can’t find it from the list of apps installed and I can’t uninstalled.
I can’t copy the link from the app but it is available from Google play and when I look for it only give me the option of activate.
I have the option of report it directly from avast but I haven’t reported because I’m not sure is a false positive.
I gonna report it I guess they gonna analyze the file.
