Lots of problems today

It seems windows says Avast isn’t turned on.
And It blue screened earlier today from avast.
Also the package is broken so I cannot even update it
Avast says the realtime shields are up but it will not let me into the realtime Shields tab.

Pack C:\Windows\Minidump\memory.dmp to rar, zip. Name It as milasoren minidump or something similar and send It to ftp.avast.com/incoming/

Seems the computer has issues with me trying to put things in a zipped folder I have no permission to do this? The joys of being the administrator.

PW protected…??

It has a lock on the folder. Im checking the security of it… I am just copying and pasting it into a zipped folder.

How would that be related to avast…?

Well a blue screen came from avast and someone wants the minidump but i cannot unlock the folder.

https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=87

It keeps saying i have no permission to move it into a zip folder.

What do you want to move to a zip folder…??
A minidump…?

Yes. But it keeps saying the file isn’t there or there is no read permission. Should I just post the dump information that I got from the debugger?

You have no read permission on your own drive…?? Impossible…!

Refering to your first post, is avast running…??

Windows says no. Avast says yes but will /not/ let me into the real time shields tab

Repair avast:

  1. Control Panel - Add/Remove programs - avast!
  2. Scroll down and click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.

Please try to repair avast!
See Reply #14

It says a full update must be run and will not let me repair.

Ok.

  1. Follow instructions here: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
  2. Reinstall avast!:
    Free AV: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_free.exe
    Pro AV: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_pro.exe
    IS: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_ais.exe

and when I run the update it says it cannot update the package is broken.

Is there a problem with the virus definitions?

I have had this happen before and it resolved in a few hours with a new definition update.

Never had the bluescreen though…
