Lots of trouble with SafeZone

I have a lot of trouble with SafeZone.

When I start SafeZone, I get the following error message:

“Your profile couldn’t be opened correctly. Some functions might be unavailable. Control that the profile exist and that you have permission to readand write its content”

When I click OK, it just stands there and tries to load for eternities. I’ve been sitting here for 20 minutes now and nothing is happening, except for that arrow to the left of the text "chrome://startpage rotating, rotating, and rotating.

I have had problems with this for a long time. What can I do about it?

Today I had to make an online payment on my usual browser because it took too long time to wait for SafeZone to load. What’s the point with this program when I can’t use it?

What OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ?
Any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
Already performed a repair of avast ?
Already performed a clean installation of avast ?

Windows 7 Professional
160901-8
No
Yes, the problem is still there.
No, not yet.

160901-8 is the vps version, not the avast version.
Please mention the avast version.

Sorry, forgot that.

It is Avast Internet Security

Yes but what exact version ?
Right click the avast icon near the clock > about

Today I’m more stupid than usual!

The version is: 12.3.2280 (built 12.3.3154.0)

However, I must inform you that I just did a clear install of Avast and that this version is the one I recently downloaded.

And SafeZone is functioning normal again!

Thanks anyway for help and patience!

Always good to hear everything is working as it should

There was a problem in profile - this is not corrected by repair install…

Clean install is solution, of course… or remove profile folders in Avast ProgramData.

When it comes to a clean installation, I always recommend to do it manually.
In that way avast will completely be removed including all remnants of older versions that (on rare occasions) can cause a problem.

I’m already working on a uninstaller that should remove more than removing through control panel and using aswclear is doing.

Hi Eddy, sounds interesting… 8)
