Yeah , the Web shield is brilliant!!! ;D

Avast has come a long way and with version 5, team Avast surely did a swell job.

Wow. Congrulations to Alwil!

Cyclone fan here… it’s my opinion that Avast should just block EVERYTHING on the Sooner forum. hahaha

I am loving Avast as well… AIS is pretty neat. (Yeah, there’s almost always room for improvement in a program, but I still like it very much.)

For a long time, I have been looking for a nice all-in-one suite because it gets pretty annoying when a lot of programs must start with the system.

This is one piece of software that I am actually enjoying testing on my equipment.

So far, I’ve tested AIS on an old:

  1. Sony RS220 desktop (P4 2.5 Ghz, XP SP3, 1GB RAM)–very pleased with the startup time of the system
  2. HP Compaq TC1100 (P-M 1 Ghz, XP SP3, 1GB RAM)–very pleased here as well
  3. Dell 600M (P-M 1.6 Ghz, XP SP3, 2GB RAM)–eternally slow no matter what I’ve used on it… ~shrugs~ I might see if I can find a lightweight Linux distro for it or test Haiku on it…

I did want to test AIS or some other Avast product on a Tatung TX-2000 Web Pad, but I’m not really sure about that one yet. XP-e is not on it, so I may have to consider nLite/vLite, HFSLIP or something else… However, I am seriously looking forward to seeing how AIS performs on a Dell Mini 9 with Vista.

avast! has never found anything for me. I hope it’s because I visit safe sites (fingers crossed).

Nice as always  Even “mighty” NOD32 missed a lot
