Lucifer virus in memory

Hi,

Can anyone help? Apparently the Lucifer 17xx virus is present in the memory of my PC. I’ve had a look online and the only way i can see to remove it is after its struck. Apparently its something to do with MS Word.

Had anyone experience with this and can they help get rid of it?

I have Avast! and Sophos

Thanks

Steve

A Boot time scan may help solve your problem

Running 2! Two! Anti virus programs is running one AV program to many not advisable at all

Hi P3t3rb0nn,

Well having two resident AV programs is a bad idea, they start competing with each other, just like two FW’s together is bad. One resident AV product, I advise AVAST, and other special AV solution that are non-resident is actually a good idea (if the programs feel comfortable together) I have AVAST as a resident AV solution, Dr. Web’s browser plug-in to scan my links on their global update-servers before clicking on them or downloading from them, and Bitdefenders’ heuristic Script Wall built in to the Windows Scripting Host to watch that no malicious code is allowed to run, so I can evaluate the script before it is allowed to run. This free solution of one AV product and two special additions give me more security, then I use several anti ad- & spyware solutions. Some in this forum even have a non-resident AV product running as a sort of second opinion (ClamWin for instance).
Do others also tweak their security in such a way?
