When I was researching the scanning of archives I suddenly noticed that .LZH (or .LHA) is not on the ScanPackers list.
Does that mean that avast! will not scan LHARC archives ?

What list exactly do you mean?
This type of list (it lists the decompressor types right, and there seems to be no depacker for LZH and LHA files there, or is those file types handled by one of the other ones):
OUTLOOK–ScanPackers EXE;ZIP;MIME;RAR;ARJ;TAR;GZ;CAB;ARC;ACE;ZOO;BZIP2;WinExec
Hello,
Last month, I made sure that avast! detected eicar.com in lha
archives (even in double packed lha archive), but avast!
didn’t delete it from archives.

…and today it could be changed ;), I remember we’ve already discussed it - i’ll give you know what was wrong.
Lars-Eric, you can add the magic word LHarc to the list.
OK, so if I want to add scanning of LZH and LHA files to ALL scanning (mail, outlook, p2p, standard) I can just open the avast4.mdb database and add “LHARC” somewhere in the list of packers. Making it look like this all places: Val
EXE;ZIP;MIME;RAR;ARJ;TAR;GZ;CAB;ARC;ACE;ZOO;BZIP2;LHarc;WinExec (or should “LHarc” be “LHARC” or doesn’t case matter) ?
That’s right. And case doesn’t matter
