Hallo,
if You missed the last public-betatesting wave, it’s here again. Write to cimbal@avast.com with subject MAC-BETA and I’ll point you in turn to the proper betatesting-dedicated page with all the additional info and downloads.
Regards,
PC
… hmmm, but, … who read this, was probably already interested enough, so I won’t make obstacles - here it is, slightly protected against webcrawling bots: http://public.nameofourantivirus.com/~cimbal/beta.html
al968, kind of an odd question, but are you actually using a Mac? If so, I would have thought that you would know that Apple’s operating systems are Unix based.
And if you’re not using a Mac, why would you care when it’s done testing?
Sorry, no disrespect meant, but in this thread, you were pretty vocal about when it’ll be done:
Don’t worry I don’t take it as disrespect
No I am not using an Apple however I have noticed that more people want an antivirus and they are turning to Symantec which has one
So I wish that the Antivirus for Mac would come out so that I could recommand it to them
Please tell them NOT to use Symantec if they have an Intel Macintosh!!! There are serious issues with NAV under Intel plus the resident scanner will only work on PowerPC systems
Intego’s Virus Barrier product works fine under OS X PowerPC and OS X Intel so until avast is finished if they really want protection they can use that
EDIT: Sorry for the late late late reply but I usually dont check the Linux forums
I know this is an old, very old thread… I am just trying to bring it to life again. What’s happening with avast! for Mac ? Leopard is out, so all I’m waiting now is to see avast! for Mac goes final.
