Mac compatible

Hello! I’m a new user. I have the home edition on my PC laptop, and I love it. I will be switching to a Macintosh evironment and was wondering if avast works on a mac?
Thanks!

No, unfortunatelly not :-[
Anyway, MacLover is an ‘old’ user of this forum an could help and talk about Mac environment

That’s too bad. How about Linux? I’ve received an offer from someone to build me a zoomin’ linux box suitable to video/film editing. Might try it. I’m moving toward a microsoft-free diet by using all open source and free high quality programs like Avast, Firefox, Thunderbird, Open Office, linux, mac, etc. A bit off topic but I’ll take any chance I can to preach! ::slight_smile:

Ciao!

I’m on Linux now 8)
avast! protects Linux environments… Without a GUI for now and without an on-access scanner… :frowning:

mimacdonald, There are no Viruses for OS X yet. But You can still spread windows viruses to other Windows users. If you have a .Mac Subscription you can download virex for free if you have Mac OS X Jaguar or Panther. Virex is not Tiger Compatible yet.

In general there is no need for Antivirus Software if you use a Mac

And dont forget all new Macs come with iLife 05 that includes the iMovie HD Video Editing Software
