Apple's share of the worldwide computer installed based rose to over 6.6 percent last month, helped largely by growth of Intel-based systems, according to just-released data from market research firm Net Applications. At the same time, the company's Safari web browser also posted healthy share gains.

By the way, if IE7 happens not to be your favorite browser, I still think Firefox with all of it’s available add-ons
is a much safer browser than Safari. 
That just happens to be my opinion. I’m sure there are many other opinions out there. ;D
Well no one has done a study of security on IE vs Firefox vs Safari. I do think that Firefox is still a very Secure browser and its installed on every Computer i own. But Safari is very nice now that they have fixed the memory usage problems that Safari 1.x and 2.0.x had.
And I would add… how often do we hear about some security breach when it comes to Safari ? And still, we hear about at least 2 or 3 for Firefox and few more for IE. I don’t have any problems with latest beta on my new iMac, and I was also pretty happy user of the version prior to this Beta one… I have to add, not sure about other things, but I can confirm that Flash plays at least 1.5 times faster (read: complex animations with a lot of vector tweenings inside are much, much smoother) on Safari than on any other browser.
Come on Sasha, you can’t compare Apples (excuse the pun) with Pears ;D
If Safari had a large market share I’m sure it would be worth the blackhats while to take a look at Safari.
Oh yes David, you are totally right there. I am not trying to defend Apple’s product or anything like that. Like you said, I am sure Safari would be a lot larger target if it’s just more popular among computer users (read: Apple and PC), but I was just saying it how it looks at this point…
The fact is that nothing is bullet proof, that’s certain… but at this point when no one even is trying to mess with attacking Safari browser, why not use that as our benefit ?
