Couldn’t find a solution on the forum that worked, so here’s what I did to ALLOW these extensions…
- Close the Avast app (it’s OK if the icon is still active in the main menu).
- Click the ALLOW button in the Security and Privacy window of Preferences.
- The ALLOW button disappears.
- Open AVAST.
- Enable the shields.
- All is right with the world.
